 WELCOME

I initially included this website with my Master's thesis, which examined early colonial maps of New England. It has grown over time and is still an active work in progress. I have included over a dozen maps from 1580 to 1755, searching for what cartographers chose to include and, more importantly, chose to exclude from their published maps.

I currently live on lands that are located within N’Dakinna, which is the traditional ancestral homeland and waterways of the Abenaki, Pennacook, and Wabanaki Peoples, past and present. I acknowledge and honor with gratitude the land, waterways, and the Aln8bak (humans) who have stewarded N’Dakinna throughout the generations.

Which tribal space do you occupy?
